The Great Landscaping Challenge - Stage 4

I woke suddenly in the very early hours of Saturday morning, like about 1am, to the sound of torrential rain!

OH F**K! I thought. Brother B and Dad were due at our place at 7am to start Stage 4 of The Great Landscaping Challenge.

To recap - Stage 4 involves laying pavers from the gate to the back deck. A task that cannot be done in torrential rain.

However, 7am rolled around, the rain had stopped and Brother B and Dad (and Mum too to help me out with trips to the baby store, Bunnings and those inane household chores) arrived to begin a massive day.....oh and I forgot to mention the temperature was set to reach 36+ degrees!

(And big thanks to Sister B for her home made muffins - Raspberry & White Chocolate! So frickin' yummy. She actually has her own business making muesli, seasoned nuts, biscuits & muffins called Mocha Munch!!)

The boys began work - moving road base and sand, levelling the road base and sand, moving pavers, cutting the pavers and laying the pavers.

Mum, Little Miss 4 and I started on the Christmas tree. After all it was December 1st and Little Miss 4 had been waiting for this day for the past 2 months!

After the Christmas tree was trimmed, Mum, Little Miss 4 and I hit the baby shop and Bunnings. While the boys continued moving road base and sand, levelling the road base and sand, moving pavers, cutting the pavers and laying the pavers.

When the clock struck 3pm, Little Miss 4 and I (looking very similar to the Michelin Man with my swollen hands, feet, and face) hit the pool - Mum was doing the inane household chore of vacuuming (THANKS MUM!!).

The boys called it quits at 4pm, covering what they had done with tarps in case of overnight rain and hit the pool too as the temperature soared to 36+ degrees.

Sunday morning saw Brother B and Dad back to finish off laying the pavers with Hubby and IT LOOKS FRICKIN' AWESOME. While I wished for no rain. Thankfully the temperature was in the mid 20's, even though it was a tad windy.

Thanks boys!!

How was your weekend?
