{Life} Ten things to tick off my list in 2017

  1. Move EVERY day
Gotta hit those 10,000 steps per day! and become a fit, healthy version of me!

  2. Meditate regularly
I love to meditate, it really improves my mental well being.

  3. Be Kinder - to myself
I really need to learn to be kinder to myself. Kindness is such a wonderful trait. I love to show kindness to people - not so good at showing it to myself.
  4. Eat more wholesome foods
As part of getting back on track with healthy and fit Sam 2017, the family and I are going to be eating a lot less from packets and a lot more from the garden.

  5. Go with the flow
Chill out as much as I can and just go with the flow. My stress levels at the end of 2016 were way too high - change must happen.

  6. Blog every week
I love to blog and didn't do enough of it last year - again, change must happen.

  7. Connect with friends and families
Pick up the phone more often to talk to friends and family. Make an effort to have a lunch a month with a friend.
  8. Stick to the budget
Now the renovation dust has settled - it is time to get serious about sticking to our budget.
  9. Have more fun
Organise outings with the kids, Hubby, family and friends, even just picnics in the park or bike rides. Go to the beach more - I love the beach.

  10. Get my PMI-ACP certification
In the work side of my life I am a project manager and am setting the goal this year to get my Agile certification.

Are you ticking anything off the list this year?

Ten things to tick off my list in 2016

  1. Shave my head
This one is already locked in as I am participating in The World's Greatest Shave.

  2. Get a tattoo
First stop with getting a tattoo is convincing my Dad. You see when I was younger I promised him that I wouldn't get one - he is dead set against tattoos for a variety of reasons. And I simply can't break promises, even the thought of breaking it makes me feel physically ill. So he would need to be on board with this for it to actually happen.

  3. Sponsor a child
Hubby and I have been talking about this for a long time. Enough talking, time for action.

  4. Move EVERY day
Gotta hit those 10,000 steps per day!

  5. Meditate regularly
I love to meditate, it really helps me with my anxiety. Now I just have to make sure I make time for it every day.

  6. Eat more wholesome foods
As part of my healthy and fit Sam 2016, the family and I are going to be eating a lot less from packets and a lot more from the garden.

  7. Go with the flow
Chill out as much as I can and just go with the flow. If there are toys, books, paper, pencils and other kids paraphernalia (not to mention Hubby paraphernalia) lying around the house that is OK. We do live in this little 'ol house, so it doesn't matter if it looks lived in. Am I right!

  8. Watch the clouds
When I was younger I used to love just lying in the backyard and watching the clouds race across the sky. I intend doing more of that this year.

  9. Take a ballet class
Ballet is my favourite form of dance. I miss it. But why should I miss it? I just need to take a class and the miss will diminish.

  10. Learn something new
I am booking in to the following workshops...

Are you ticking anything off the list this year?
Can you believe it is already February?

It is time to prioritise

Image from here

I am an "over" type person....

I am over anxious. The smallest things seem to spin me into an anxious mess; Little Mr 0 crying, Hubby being late home from work, Little Miss 4 getting sick...the list goes on. Small, tiny things that other people wouldn't even think about, let alone actually dwell on, tie me up in knots.

I am an over analyser. I think too much about everything. What people say, what they don't say, their actions, their looks. I go over conversations again and again in my head analysing and analysing to the minutest detail. This normally leads to me being over anxious.

I attempt to over achieve. At the moment I am attempting to do a Bookkeeping course, freelance writing, write a book, look after a 13 week old, find my mother-in-law a place to live, blog, knit a blanket and make jewellery. Oh and the typical things - cook, clean, wash, garden, be a good mum, wife, daughter, sister, friend. This also normally leads me to being over anxious as I lie awake in bed at night pondering my to-do list and freaking out that nothing is actually getting done.

Last night when Little Mr 0 wouldn't go to sleep at 1.30am and I was over analysing the shit out of why and my anxiety levels were going through the roof - I stopped. I thought, "What the F*CK!".

I need to stop. I need to take stock of my life, my goals, my priorities.

I can't do it all and that is okay. I need to make peace with the fact that it is okay. I need to realise that just because I am not juggling a million things I will not get depressed because there is too much time to think. I need to realise that I might actually get things done when not attempting them all together.

Today I wrote down the things that are on my list and prioritised them. It felt good.

Do you prioritise?
