Yesterday I blogged about delightful smells. Today I delve into the putrid.
There are so many foul smells that I could list as the worst. Having a strong sense of smell is not good when it comes to bad odours, trust me!
The worst, for me anyway, would have to be....BO!
I have smelt some people whose BO is so repugnant that you want to dry-retch. In some instances I actually just may have. I have worked with many an unnamed person who has had this exact effect on me.
One man in particular, was so particular about his food hygiene and neatness, he washed tomato seeds off his plate like they were poison. However, never bathed or washed his hair. He had the aroma of someone who had soiled themselves.
Another man seems to sleep in his clothes and not bother with the daily shower ritual so engrained on the rest of society in this day and age. Clothes have been stained for days and the BO becomes unbearable, especially in the summer months. Private chats don't seem to stick and leaving little gifts of spray deodorant doesn't seem to do the trick either.
People who suffer this BO affliction must not be graced with a strong sense of smell. Because surely no-one could actually like it, finding it pleasant. The thought makes me want to dry-retch, again!
And on a final note, here is a tip - If you work with a BO afflicted person, don't sit next to them in a meeting because a) you might pass out and b) you don't want people to think it is you that stinks.
What do you think is the worst smell?
