RACISM. IT STOPS WITH ME

Being a non-racist, I don't understand racism. I can't comprehend how people harm others, both emotionally and physically based on the colour of their skin or where they were born.

Doesn't everyone understand that we come in to this world the exact some way. Human beings are all conceived when their father's sperm meets their mother's egg. For the next 40 weeks, give or take, we are all growing in our mother's bellies, and then we are born as human beings.

All the same way. Doesn't this unite us? Isn't this enough to unite us? It should unite us.

Young children are not racist. They do not see the colour of skin. They do not judge. Everyone is their equal.

When do some people start to judge others on what they look like or where they come from? On the fact that their skin colour is different to their own?

We say we live in a multi-cultural society, yet we still hear of racial abuse on suburban trains, buses, schools, workplaces and the sports field, in this year, 2014. It is abhorrent.

Something needs to change. We need to be a united race of human beings.

Well, RACISM. IT STOPS WITH ME.

Recently I saw this TV commercial featuring Adam Goodes promoting the campaign, RACISM. IT STOPS WITH ME and it struck a chord. Here it is,

I believe in stamping out racism and therefore will be supporting this cause.

It would be great if racism could stop with you too.
