Trendy Tuesday - ankle boots

This Trendy Tuesday, I am examining the trend of ankle boots.

Years ago people wouldn't be caught dead in ankle boots that weren't covered by flarey bottomed pants.

Roll around 2013 and you aren't a fashionista if you don't have at least one pair of ankle boots to wear with all the skinny jeans, dresses, skirts or short shorts in your wardrobe. Summer or winter, ankle boots are everywhere at the moment.

They come in many styles and colours. Heel or flat. Leather or suede. Bikie or cowboy. Lace or Zip. Studded or plain. Black or red or leopard print.

I have three pairs of ankle boots. All purchased a long time ago. I would love to purchase the I Love Billy boots above, alas my strict budget doesn't allow it.

    I love my ankle boots. I have a nice little heeled pair and just bought a flat pair for a more casual look. I tend to wear them with skinny jeans and leggings. I'd also love to invest in a pair of docs too. I always wanted them back in the nineties and they're in again too!

      I used to have an awesome pair of green docs when I was younger. I loved them. They are so comfy too.

    Woo, this takes me back to the 80's, I had grey suede ankle boots with little tassles - and I wore them with legwarmers. God help me. Now I'm more of a Docs/Converse girl, but those look pretty!

      Oh legwarmers! I loved legwarmers. I bought my daughter a pair hoping she would embrace them too, but she didn't really.

    I still can't bring myself to wear ankle boots. Maybe because I feel like I'm wearing my steel cap boots and don't feel elegant enough. I love my brown knee high boots though plus they keep my legs warm.

      I love my knee high boots too. I would love to get a new pair of them too, but alas our damn strict budget!

    I WANT THEM - but can't find any that don't have a heel - as I'm already tall enough, but totally not trendy!
