My little brother was born today...

Back in 1976. It was a stormy Saturday when my little red haired cherub brother was born on 20 November at 6.18pm.

The very early days
Today he turned 36. When this day rolls around every year I always reminisce about days gone by and the years spent together. I just can't help myself, I am an over thinker, too emotional and very sentimental.

He is a great guy. I am sure I haven't always thought that, I do remember a time in our early teens when trying to injure each other was very high on the agenda for both of us. Surely this is common for all siblings during this coming of age time - isn't it?

Thankfully we have left those pesky teen years behind and are very good friends now.

My family is extremely important to me. I don't know where I would be without them. My brother is no exception.

He is always there when I need him; last minute wedding preps, emergency trips to the hospital, emergency baby sitting and of course he is the integral cog in our Great Landscaping Challenge.

I know you can't pick your family but damn I got lucky with mine. I hope that Little Miss 4 thinks the same as she grows up and has great memories with her brother/sister that she can look back on when she is 36.

Just the early years
Do you have a super sibling?

  1. Happy bday sis. I couldn't agree more. Love your little red haired chub.

  2. Yep... I have a super sibling... My bratty little 'bother' (yes that's right bother NOT brother) turned 35 this year. Not many others on this earth understand me like he does.

    1. He will be 36 soon too :) And surely he isn't that much of a bother??
