What does your favourite colour say about you?

My favourite colour is green. It has been for as long as I can remember. I think it is because my eyes are green and apparently that is somewhat rarer than the other eye colours - but what the hell do I know (not much it seems).

This week over at My little Sunshine House, Zanni is having a link-up about colour. It got me to thinking...as I am want to do way too much of....about what loving green says about me? If anything.

Therefore, I have snuck off to my friend google.com to find out.

According to Empower yourself with color psychology, if green is your fav colour you have a deep need to belong, to love and be loved, and the feel safe and secure. You need acceptance and acknowledgement for the everyday things you do for others.

According to Psychology Today, those who love the colour green are often affectionate, loyal and frank. Green lovers are also aware of what others think of them and consider their reputation very important.

Yep, I have a deep need to belong, to love and be loved, and feel safe and secure. I presumed this was a human nature thing and not a green thing, but colour me green on this one.

I am also very affectionate, loyal and frank. So, spot on Psychology Today.

It also seems though that I need acceptance, acknowledgement and a good reputation - unless of course a bad reputation is important to me, as Psychology Today was not that specific. I'll have to give it some thought.

What are your thoughts?
What is your favourite colour?
Do you know what it says about you?

What is Christmas to you?

Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas!

As people start decorating their Christmas trees and opening their advent calendars. It got me thinking, what is Christmas to you?

Most people love to have a Christmas tree, carefully and lovingly erected with members of their family on December 1st. We certainly do and ours is sitting proudly in the living room as I write this post - I am wondering how long it is before our 10 month old pulls it down on top of himself though.

For the Griswalds among us, their houses and yards also pay homage to the tokens of a western Christmas with Santa and his reindeer, snowmen, sleighs, Christmas trees, presents and many million flashing lights.

It is also a time when people spend time with family and friends exchanging gifts, eating, drinking and being merry.

For some it is the time of year to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and visit their church to hear sermons and sing hymns.

For us, Christmas is a time to be with family and friends. I also love to send our loved ones Christmas cards, this is a tradition I hope to pass onto my kids - I wonder if there will even be post when they are my age?

It is also a time for us to teach our kids that giving is just as good, if not better, than receiving. We make sure that everyone has a little something under the Christmas tree, no matter how small. Our little miss loves to give these presents out at Christmas time and watch the look on people's faces as they open their gift. It is something I love every Christmas.

This year we are also starting a new tradition with our kids. We are giving to people who are not as fortunate as us. This year we are donating to The Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

What is Christmas to you?
